Marie Corcoran
Describe your volunteer activities at HCT:
My husband Dennis and I walk HCT’s 66-acre Bank St. Bogs Nature Preserve to monitor the site for any land stewardship issues.
How long have you volunteered?
5 years
What do you like most about it, memorable moments?
I love walking the property in all seasons and watching the changes in bird and plant life. The property is full of Eastern Bluebirds and Tree Swallows, but I was especially excited to see a Yellow Chat there in the Spring of 2011.
What’s special about Harwich?
We chose to live on the Cape, initially, to be connected to Den’s family and to uphold the tradition of living in Dennis for the third generation. Being near the sea and close to family is a wonderful combination.
What else do you like to do for fun or other activities or volunteering?
I also volunteer at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and I’m a bluebird monitor at Crowe’s Pasture in East Dennis.
