Video: HCT’s Tom Evans honored by Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands

You’ve got to move fast if you want to catch up with Tom Evans. As President of the Harwich Conservation Trust (HCT) Board of Trustees, he might be out at a site visit for an ongoing eco-restoration project, scoping out possible land acquisitions or leading an educational walk at an HCT property.

But Evans slowed down briefly on Nov. 19th, when he was honored by Philanthropy Partners of the Cape & Islands (PPCI) at the 28th Annual Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod at the Emerald Resort in Hyannis, where he received the organization’s 2025 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award.

In his acceptance remarks, Evans expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the dedication of volunteers across Cape Cod and the Islands.

According to a Philanthropy Partners news release, “Tom Evans has helped lead transformative conservation and historic preservation projects. A key figure behind the award-winning Cold Brook Eco-Restoration Project, he continues to champion efforts in affordable housing, land protection, and public education through decades of dedicated volunteer service.”

PPCI is a nonprofit, volunteer-led membership organization, founded in 1991 to support and connect nonprofit professionals, while celebrating charitable giving on the Cape and Islands. The organization is dedicated to supporting the philanthropic community and inspiring charitable giving through educational initiatives and networking opportunities.

During the awards ceremony, event organizers screened a video that celebrated the many contributions Evans has made to the Cape Cod environment and community. See the video below:
