Conservation History and Importance:
This HCT sanctuary is dedicated in memory and honor of Lee W. Baldwin. Lee was a Trustee of the Harwich Conservation Trust and a well-known Cape Cod naturalist who inspired countless people with her walks, presentations, and writings. Perched at the edge of a red maple swamp, this site offers a short walking trail and boardwalk with a bench. This small and special assemblage provides roadside greenery along scenic Lothrop Avenue and helps to protect land within the Herring River Watershed.
Trailhead Parking:
- From Rt. 28, take Lothrop Ave .0.25 mile north to the parking area on your right.
- From Great Western Road, take Lothrop Ave. approx. 1.0 mile south to the parking area on your left.
