Conservation History and Importance:

This HCT sanctuary is dedicated in memory and honor of Lee W. Baldwin. Lee was a Trustee of the Harwich Conservation Trust and a well-known Cape Cod naturalist who inspired countless people with her walks, presentations, and writings. Perched at the edge of a red maple swamp, this site offers a short walking trail and boardwalk with a bench. This small and special assemblage provides roadside greenery along scenic Lothrop Avenue and helps to protect land within the Herring River Watershed.
