Mushroom Walk with Mycologist Wesley Price
On Sunday, November 6th, an enthusiastic group of fungi friends learned all about mushrooms while exploring Coy’s Brook Woodlands with mycologist Wesley Price. After an educational introduction to the world of mushrooms, the group took to the trails where they rummaged through leaf litter to collect a wide variety of species. Returning to the starting area with baskets full of unique finds, Wesley taught the group identification tips, interesting facts, and brought out a microscope with a screen to share up-close looks of mushroom features.
While harvesting mushrooms was allowed for this special educational walk, please otherwise leave the mushrooms in their natural environment so they can continue their life cycle and so that all visitors can enjoy seeing them.
