March 1st Bell’s Neck Birding Gallery
On the sunny morning of March 1st, our Bell’s Neck birding group spotted 21 species. During this seasonal transition period, birders can still spot our winter visitors before they begin their migration to the North for the breeding season, as well as welcome species returning from the south. The red-winged blackbird is certainly making a strong return, with 20 individuals spotted on the walk yesterday morning!
A big thank you to Peter Trull for leading these educational walks and to Stan Selkow for providing these stunning photos.
What a wonderful way to explore the outdoors and celebrate the return of spring.
