Saturday, June 25th, 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.
Botany Adventures at HCT’s Cold Brook Preserve
Sponsored by Harwich Conservation Trust (HCT), join botanist Robert (Bob) Zaremba, Ph.D., to learn about the many different plants found at HCT’s largest preserve (66-acre Robert F. Smith Cold Brook Preserve) located in the heart of Harwich Port. Bob, who lives in Chatham, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and worked for MassAudubon and The Nature Conservancy for 21 years. Bob’s expertise is in rare plant conservation and conservation land management. As owner of Maps of Antiquity, Bob also has a unique perspective on historical maps of the Cape Cod landscape. The plant communities at this scenic site offer a glimpse into the past as well as a look into the future as natural succession takes place. This walk is free, but please register in advance by emailing hctwalks@gmail.com. You will receive directions with our registration confirmation email or see below for directions.
