Piping plover by Gus Romano
About this walk:
Sponsored by Harwich Conservation Trust, join shorebird biologist Shilo Felton for a short walk to learn about the natural history and conservation of piping plovers, a federally threatened species. We’ve been watching for a window in the weather to match with the timing of plover presence. Right now this rare shorebird is nesting on selected Cape Cod beaches. We will observe a plover family on a local Harwich beach so please bring binoculars. Learn how we can help protect these birds during both their breeding and migration stages. This walk is free, but space is limited.
