About this walk:
Sponsored by Harwich Conservation Trust, botanist and environmental reporter Rich Eldred will lead a free, guided walk to learn about the plant community through winter botany basics at a local conservation destination in East Harwich on Saturday, January 12th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. It’s especially interesting at this time of year after most leaves have fallen to learn alternative ways of identifying plants. Rich will point out branching patterns, twig color, bark color, location in the landscape, and even how to smell the difference between some of the twigs as ways to distinguish plants.
