2014 Conservationist of the Year:
The lifelong philanthropist, William Sperry Beinecke, is Chairman and Director of The Prospect Hill Foundation and a Director of The Sperry Fund. Together with his late wife, Elizabeth G. Beinecke, he founded The Prospect Hill Foundation in 1959.  Since 1968, the Prospect Hill Foundation has served to protect both land and water natural areas. Over the past 46 years, 286 grants have been awarded to 82 grantees towards conservation efforts to preserve important open space locations.

Dr. Eric Chivian is currently Director of the Program for Preserving the Natural World, a non-profit founded in 2013. He was the founder of the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School and co-founded the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, which won the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize
