Have you ever wondered how to identify trees and shrubs in the winter? It can be a challenge once those telltale leaves abandon their posts and drop to the ground. But there are other ways to get the ID job done! Please join naturalist Tom Walker at Sand Pond Woodlands to learn how to distinguish native and naturalized plants this time of year by studying bark characteristics, branching patterns, buds, fruits, and habitat preferences. Tom will also provide a bit of intriguing history during this winter stroll through your local conservation lands.
