Spring Bird Migration Field Classes

Time: 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Meeting Place: Robert F. Smith Cold Brook Preserve
Leader: Peter Trull
Price: 20
Attendee Limit: 12
Spring migration is fully underway at the Cold Brook Preserve and Bell’s Neck Conservation Lands. Join Field Naturalist Peter Trull on a slow, focused quest for spring migrants, with possible sightings of colorful warblers, vireos, tanagers, grosbeaks, and orioles. At Bell's Neck, the annual migration of river herring also offers the opportunity to witness ospreys swooping, diving, and crashing into the water with long needle-like talons, catching fish, and flying off. Learn about the unique adaptations, life history, and habits of each bird species we encounter.
Birding enthusiasts from all experience levels are welcome. Please bring binoculars.
