Please join Andrea Higgins (Kripalu Certified Mindful Outdoor Guide) and Andrea Belford (QiGong Instructor, capecodqigong.org) to enhance your awareness and peace of mind at Harwich Conservation Trust's beautiful Sand Pond Woodlands. Reconnect with nature at this 80-acre Preserve offering peaceful trails through rich habitats including forest, vernal pools, wetlands, cranberry bogs and views of the meandering Herring River.
You are invited to retreat in preparation for Imbolc, a Gaelic festival to celebrate the imminent arrival of spring, which occurs halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. While still too early for planting in the garden, Imbolc was traditionally a time to start thinking about what you wanted to plant and harvest in the coming year. In modern times, Imbolc and the quiet weeks after the holiday season is a great time to reflect and plan ahead for the coming months. Please join us to plant and nurture ideas and dreams for the coming season.
We'll start our retreat with a QiGong practice based on the 5 Elements of Nature - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. QiGong is an ancient Chinese practice, thousands of years old, that means 'the practice of cultivating life force energy.' The practice is a series of slow and gentle movements that combine proper posture, healthy breathing, and mindfulness. By connecting out in nature together, we achieve and maintain health, healing, and vitality of the body, mind, and spirit.
Then we'll enjoy a guided meditative saunter through serene, forested trails. Settle your awareness on nature's soothing atmosphere and gain inspiration from the living earth. Pause to appreciate the details and beauty found in nature, and rekindle your sense of curiosity, discovery, and wonder.
Join us on this self-healing retreat to tune in to your senses and feel the vital life force energy that flows through us, and all living things in nature.
