Please join Mindful Outdoor Guide Andrea Higgins and QiGong Instructor Andrea Belford (www.capecodqigong.org) to enhance your awareness and peace of mind at Harwich Conservation Trust's 77-acre Sand Pond Woodlands. You are invited to retreat in preparation for Imbolc, a Gaelic festival to celebrate the imminent arrival of spring, marking the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. While traditionally a time to begin planning the garden before planting season, in modern times the quiet weeks after the holiday season is a great chance to reflect and set intentions for the coming year.
We'll start our retreat with a QiGong practice based on the 5 Elements of Nature - Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. QiGong is an ancient Chinese practice of 'cultivating life force energy' that follows a series of slow and gentle movements combining proper posture, healthy breathing, and mindfulness. Then we'll enjoy a guided mindful walk through serene, forested trails, pausing to appreciate the details and beauty found in nature and rekindle your sense of curiosity, discovery, and wonder.
