In March, spring begins to take hold in the wetlands, ponds and woodlands of Cape Cod. Red-winged blackbirds are the first to herald the changing seasons with their brilliant, flaring wings and loud (somewhat unmusical) calls. The highly anticipated spring migration begins now.

Join Field Naturalist and author Peter Trull for a series of birding field classes at a variety of locations in Harwich. Birding enthusiasts from all experience levels are welcome. Learn birding basics, identification methods, and practice your observation skills. Peter will teach about bird behavior and habitat preferences, as well as signs and tracks of other fauna in the area. You may even spot a species you’ve never seen before!

Peter will record all species seen and HCT will email the birding recap to all participants. Please join us for these two-hour field classes in birding and natural history. This will be a true learning experience.
