Venture into Bell's Neck Conservation Lands to learn about teeth, veins, and hair -- not parts of the body, but leaf characteristics that help distinguish different types of trees during the growing season. October is a wonderful time to learn about the species of flora that decorate the changing fall forest in a mosaic of earthy tones. During this guided field class, naturalist Tom Walker will teach you how to identify native and naturalized trees, shrubs, ferns, forbs (wildflowers), and anything else that sparks interest alongside the trail.
