FULL–Dec. 8th: Botany Walk

Sponsored by Harwich Conservation Trust, botanist and environmental reporter Rich Eldred will lead a free, guided walk to teach about the plant community through botany basics at a local conservation destination in Harwich on Saturday, December 8th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. It’s especially interesting at this time of year after most leaves have fallen to learn alternative ways of identifying plants. Look for branching patterns, twig color, bark color, location in the landscape, and even smell the difference between some of the twigs as ways to distinguish plants. Find witch hazel, Atlantic white cedar, beaked hazelnut, and a variety of other species.
