FULL–Coy’s Brook Woodlands Walk: Nov. 18, 2019

Coy’s Brook Woodlands in autumn by Vince DeWitt

Sorry, this walk is now full, but stay tuned through HCT’s eNews for more inspiring outdoor experiences!

About this walk:
Join Tyler Maikath, HCT Outreach and Stewardship Coordinator, for a walk exploring this 27-acre property, one of HCT’s first major acquisitions. HCT is coming full circle in 2019 with an opportunity to purchase and protect the last remaining wooded lot next to Coy’s Brook Woodlands. With scenic vistas over Coy’s Brook, and the creeks and salt marshes along the Herring River, we’ll look for migratory waterfowl and other waterbirds. We will visit a rare Atlantic white cedar swamp, and discuss how Harwich’s history of cranberry cultivation has affected the landscape over the last 150 years. This walk is free, but space is limited, so advance reservation is required
.

Date: Monday, Nov. 18th (rain cancels)
Time: 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Walk distance: The distance will be about one-half mile with some moderate slopes and exposed tree roots.
