Sponsored by HCT, join walk leader Mark McGrath on a walk of the Cape Cod Bay flats from Brewster to Rock harbor in Orleans at low tide. It will be a one-way 2-mile walk. The walk will start on dry beach sand, then mostly intermittent sand flats, with some shallow ankle-deep water crossings, but might be as high as mid-calf as we cross tidal flat streams. We will walk the mid-flats, neither hugging the shore nor reaching the bay water’s edge. Enjoy an appreciation of the beauty of the flats as well as a feeling of freedom from the “mainland” of the Cape. We may pass by oyster patches and potentially see folks working the flats for shellfish.

This event is free, but space is limited, so advance reservation is required and the walk is now full.
