Americorps Invasive Privet Clearing Project
An energetic and committed Americorps crew was dedicated to clearing invasive privet (pictured right) at one of HCT’s conservation properties. The group teamed up to tackle the project using clippers, weed wrenches, a brush cutter, and more.
Chinese Privet was introduced to the U.S. as an ornamental plant in the 1700s. It grows as dense underbrush and outcompetes native shrubs. It spreads easily and can quickly take over an area.
A big thank you to the Americorps members who volunteered their time on this conservation project.
