30 August 2022 Red River Beach Birding Walk
On Tuesday morning, August 30th, naturalist and author Peter Trull led the last Red River Beach Shorebird Walk of the season. Participants spotted 28 species while wandering the shores of Nantucket Sound, learning about bird anatomy, migration, and interbreeding. Some highlights of the trip included sightings of saltmarsh sparrows, a ruddy turnstone, and a flock of snowy egrets flying low overhead.
