Life on the Farm Tour: Cape Cod Lavender Farm
Sponsored by Harwich Conservation Trust, tour the Cape Cod Lavender Farm in Harwich on Saturday, June 9th (10:00 to 11:00 a.m.). The farm opened in 1995 and started with two bestselling products: lavender plants and lavender soap (made locally the old fashioned way). Today, owners Cynthia and Matthew Sutphin sell over 20 lavender products, including home décor, culinary, and lavender infused selections for mind-body-spirit at their farm gift shop. The lavender fields are typically in bloom late June through early July (weather dependent). Learn about the farm’s history including a family commitment to conserving the surrounding lands, tips for cultivating lavender, lavender’s many uses, and Cape Cod farming adventures from the Sutphins. In total, three generations enjoy and tend to the farm.
